Angela Dorothea Merkel (German:[aŋˈɡeːladoʁoˈteːaˈmɛʁkl̩]ⓘ;[a]née Kasner; born 17 July 1954) is a German retired politician who served as Chancellor of Germany from 2005 to 2021.
