          The Government appointed the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Concerning the Sámi People on 28 October 2021.

          The Sami are often described as the only indigenous people of the European Union.

        1. This book examines the contemporary social care realities and practices of Finland, a small nation with a history enmeshed in social relations as both coloniser.
        2. For example, Rogozhkin, who wrote as well as directed the film, never allowed Anni-Kristiina Juuso, his Lapp star, to see the entire script .
        3. Incident through the eyes of Elen Alaksdatter Skum (Anni-Kristiina Juuso), one of the central figures in the Sami revolt and the film's narrator.
        4. From Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, Russian schoolchildren are preparing for the most important holiday of the year: Victory Day.
        5. The matter has been prepared in close cooperation with representatives of the Finnish state, the Sámi Parliament and the Skolt Sámi Siida Council. The aim of the Commission is to collect Sámi people’s experiences of the actions of the Finnish state and its various authorities and to make this information visible to the public.

           

          The Prime Minister’s Office appointed a monitoring group for the Commission on 5 November 2021.

          The task of the monitoring group is to support the Commission in its work.
